Keira is among a number
of female celebs who have been photographed by Nick Haddow for a book project
called MySafePlace. The brainchild of actress Emma Thompson, it aims to
raise funds and awareness for the Helen
Bamber Foundation, which helps to rebuild lives for survivors of human
rights violations. Photographs collected so far, including Keira's, can
be seen at mysafeplace.co.uk.
A couple more new photos can be seen at sweet-keira.

Never Let Me Go has now
appeared on the UK cinema release calendar with a date of January 28th.
It's no coincidence, surely, that this is just three days after the Oscar
nominations are announced.
Also, in a new Italian interview with Sam Worthington, he says Last Night will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
As it stands, then (subject
to change):
- Never Let Me Go: Premiere

- Last Night: Premiere Toronto
FF September 9th-19th; US & UK release Late 2010

- A Dangerous Method: Premiere

The Suicide Brothers will
be released on iTunes on September 21st via Shorts International, according

Year's Eve.

9th to 19th. Article.

The official
poster for Never Let Me Go is online at the LA Times. Click on it for
full size. Much will be made of the fact that Keira is absent in all but
name, and I'm not sure it really 'sells' the film, to be honest. No tagline
either - I wonder if this is the finished product? The clues are there:
the 'sliced' lettering, the characters running, suggestive of a race against
time. But you'd only make that connection if you've read the book.
The LA Business Journal has an update on The Film Department, the company that was due to produce Keira in The Beautiful & Damned. The company has suffered financial setbacks lately but may now be entering a new chapter in its history, and the F Scott Fitzgerald biopic is still on its slate.
As it's funded by us Brits, the BBC has to keep telling us how it's spending our money. They've put together a couple of showreels promoting its film production investment arm, BBC Films. One on TV I saw yesterday had clips from The Duchess, and there's a different one here with more Duchess clips.
Meanwhile, our shiny new government has closed down the UK Film Council, without which many global British hits, including Bend It Like Beckham, would probably never have happened.

The Oscar buzz is hotting
up for Never Let Me Go, with both RopeOfSilicon
and Variety
having articles. And this
page has been cited as its official site, although it doesn't look
like one. Fox owns neverletmegomovie.com
which currently redirects to the above, so this is likely to be the official
site nearer the time of release.

April 30th
This, apparently, is the
first official publicity
pic for London Boulevard although it's nothing new to most people who
keep an eye on Keira-related pics
or the Youtube phone camera videos
from the set. But at least it's the first stage towards an actual release!
Still no date set, and I doubt anything will appear before the World Cup's
over in mid-July now.
I came across this article recently, from an Autumn 2008 film techniques magazine. It's about The Suicide Brothers. Just shows what's out there if you look hard enough... We only got to hear about this film when Lula magazine featured it in March 2009!
Site News: I have uploaded all known Production Notes documents relating to Keira's projects - many official, some gathered from movie sites, some from personal correspondence with the filmmakers: Filmography.

April 21st
Keira has been linked (of
course) with the role of Nicole Diver in a new adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's
Tender Is The Night. No director is yet attached but it seems unlikely
Keira would do both an adaptation of the man's work as well as the biopic
of Fitzgerald The Beautiful & Damned. Article.
The Times has an interview with artist Mitch Griffiths who says that his portrait of Keira will not be nude, despite press reports.
April 14th
Keira has recorded a short
film for display as a video installation at a forthcoming London exhibition
of the work of artist Stuart Pearson Wright. Entitled 'Maze', the film
stars Keira and Pearson Wright as lovers trying to reach each other through
a garden maze. The film cost just £15,000 to make although Keira
was not paid for her part. The film can be seen at The Riflemaker Gallery
in West London from May 5th to June 26th. Exclusive

Came across this recently
if you're into movie

- trips are fortnightly from May to October. Please mention KeiraWeb if

April 8th
E! Online is reporting
that Keira has ruled herself out of a role in Captain America (if she was
ever considering it in the first place). Phew, that's a relief!
April 6th
Last time I had a response
from the production company behind The Beautiful & Damned, they told
me to keep an eye on the Project Notes section of the movie's entry at
IMDb. This section was updated last week (March 27th) with the note: 'Production
Unknown'. More recent enquiries have gone unanswered. Hmm...
The Suicide Brothers will be showing at the Aspen (Colorado) ShortsFest from today until the 11th, and the Athens (Ohio) Film and Video Festival, April 23-29th. At this rate the whole world will have seen this film by about the year 3535.

Keira lost out to Ruth Wilson
at the Oliviers yesterday evening in London. Sky News had a quick chat
on the red carpet on the way in, which I've uploaded here
(7Mb). or on Youtube.

Keira has been praised
for her choice of Erdem couture.
EDIT: Here's another interview,
from Monday's BBC London.
March 19th
Well it's awards weekend,
and the Oliviers are streaming live from this
page. Not sure about non-UK viewers, but it's worth a look in. Keira
wil be there, and Rupert will be presenting an award, according to this
article. It's also live on BBC
Radio 2.
March 17th
Rumour has it that Keira
is being considered for the lead female role in Captain America (quite
possibly the only comic strip superhero they haven't done yet). Keira's
name has been mentioned, of course, because of the desire for a British
actress to play this role. Emily Blunt is rumoured to be the frontrunner
for the role.
March 12th
Keira, alongside Annie Lennox,
Jonathan Pryce and Beverley Knight, has lent her voice to another Amnesty
International human rights awareness campaign, as you can see on
their site. To coincide with Mother's Day this Sunday the 14th in the
UK and Europe, the charity has made a video to highlight the number of
deaths and disabilities suffered by mothers following childbirth. Press
release.
Tomorrow will be the last chance to catch Keira at The Comedy Theatre as the scheduled run of The Misanthrope draws to a close. Keira has said she hopes it will be the first of many theatre performances.
IndieWire is the latest movie site to mull Never Let Me Go as a big awards contender for 2010.

Nominees Luncheon in London today. Speaking about her nomination for her
debut stage role in The Misanthrope, she said: “[It's] like a dream come
true. I never actually thought I would make it on the stage and then my
debut, to then get a nomination, it’s extraordinary.” Plenty of pics and
fashion analysis on the Newswire
and here.
Miu Miu is the label if you need to know (Miuccia Prada).
February 26th
You have just two weeks
to catch Dame Keira in her debut West End performance in The Misanthrope.
Official tickets are still available at the banner link above. No use waiting
for the DVD, you know!
It's a full diary for Keira in March: Next Tuesday the 2nd, Keira will attend The Haymarket Hotel in London for an Oliviers Nominees Luncheon, and the ceremony itself is on the 21st. Inbetween are Keira's daily Misanthrope performances, with the celebrations to mark the end of The Misanthrope's run at The Comedy Theatre on the 13th. The Beautiful & The Damned may finally start filming in late March, according to rumours. Oh, and the lady herself is 25 years old on the 26th. With London Boulevard a possible April release, if you thirst for red carpet Keira, the drought may be over!
The Olivier Awards will be streamed online for the first time this year, reports the official site. As I mentioned recently, they usually only have interviews and award winner announcements, so this is great news (provided the servers hold out!).
There's a still from Never Let Me Go in this article about Rachel Portman's score for the movie.
The Talking Cure is set to start filming in May, according to Keira's co-star Michael Fassbender in this interview. The Croatian press have already said a March visit by Keira and co to film The Beautiful & Damned, so if rumours become fact (when do they ever?) Damned should start straight after The Misanthrope, and then Cure to shoot in May.
February 21st
The final draft of the script
for The Talking Cure has now been completed, according to the updated IMDbPro
'Project Notes' section. And there's now an official synopsis on the production

a release, according to an interview

Even a DVD-only release will be welcome, compared to the fears it would
be shelved.
Costumes from The Duchess and Pirates are on display at an exhibition in Florida.
The Oliviers will not be televised in the UK, laments an article in Variety today. Given the launch of the excellent Sky Arts (which produced a great series Theatreland last year), and More4's launch of an arts and theatre strand, you'd think it would have got picked up, especially this year with such a Hollywood presence. The official Oliviers site will have cameras there for winners' announcements and interviews, and they'll appear online.
Colin Farrell is promoting Crazy Heart on Jonathan Ross this Friday on BBC1 - a possible London Boulevard mention, perhaps?
February 11th
With the tragic suicide
today of fashion designer Alexander McQueen at the age of just 40, another
leading light of Britain's contribution to global culture goes out. One

many international admirers of his designs, Keira wore a black McQueen
corset to the London premiere of the first Pirates movie on July 14th 2003.

It's FHM's Sexiest Women voting time again.

The Misanthrope is nominated in Best Costume and Best Production Revival
categories, as well as Best Supporting Actress for Keira. She will be up
against Rachel Weisz, Ruth Wilson and her Duchess co-star Hayley Atwell
among others.
February 7th
Keira has been nominated
for a Laurence Olivier Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for
her performance as Jennifer in The Misanthrope. This is fantastic news
for a debut role as the Oliviers are the UK equivalent of America's Tony
Awards, pretty much the Oscars of British theatre. The awards ceremony
will be held in London on March 21st. Article

A man has been arrested
after harrassing Keira outside the Comedy Theatre for several days. Polish
national Marek Daniluk was arrested on Thursday and is now due to appear
on trial on June 4th. The ability to see your idol in a public street every
night is exciting for many people (just see the faces and hear the delight
of the people in the Youtube
vids for confirmation of that), but for some people who, perhaps, are
convinced she is appearing only for them, it 's very easy to cross the
line.

And Sweet-Keira has a new still from Last Night. Also - old news to some - there's a series of paparazzi videos on Youtube of Keira and co filming on the set of Last Night at the end of 2008. Let's hope those are not the only moving images we get to see of that film!
Keira has once again lent her lips to charity for this year's Healed With A Kiss celebrity auction of lip prints and signatures.
The local St Albans newspaper now has a new article and a photo of Keira with the fan who met her idol at The Comedy Theatre, mentioned on January 20th.
February 1st
The Croatian press is reporting
that The Beautiful & Damned will be filmed there in the Spring. We
knew that already as a filming location, but any news on this movie is
welcome. Also of interest is the first hint at casting for Fitzgerald himself
- Leonard di Caprio...?
The NY Times says that Disney is considering potential buyers for the remnants of Miramax, including its six unreleased movies, Last Night among them.
January 31st
Keira is among a number

British news rag The Sun has an hilarious story that Keira and Rupert are now living on a narrowboat in the East End of London. Her agent has dismissed the report. Still, it's publicity for both plays...
Australian movie site DarkHorizons.com says that Last Night has been pushed back to early 2011 in Oz, and suggests a consequent late-2010 release in the US. Normally, this could be to catch the awards panel committees. However, it is being reported that Keira will head to the US maybe mid-March (post-Misanthrope) to promote the movie, and the UK release is still pencilled in for May 14th.
Keira has met with a fan and cerebral palsy sufferer backstage at The Comedy Theatre, thanks to a letter she wrote to The Starlight Foundation.

confirms he is in discussion with Keira over The Talking Cure, but says
in this
interview that casting has not been confirmed.
However, Baz in The Daily Mail says in his Friday column that ...Cure is one of two films Keira has lined up post-Misanthrope (the other may be The Beautiful & The Damned, which is still officially on). He also says she has walked away from My Fair Lady as it was taking too long to come together.
January 11th
Keira will chat to Andrew
Marr on his Sunday morning show on the 17th, from 9am on BBC1. Presumably
it's a pre-recorded Misanthrope promotion, now that the tickets and reviews
frenzy has died down. The production has benefitted greatly from these
two huge stories, which literally ran for weeks and weeks. Damian also
chats to Jonathan Ross on his BBC
Radio 2 show this Saturday.
Michael Fassbender talks about looking forward to working with Keira on The Talking Cure in this interview - the closest we have so far to a confirmation.
A new image from Last Night has appeared.
