January 10th
The Daily Telegraph seems
to have gone Keira mad lately - in both senses of the word. They have an
article
on her Vogue shoot, an article
on the filming of Never Let Me Go and an interview
which puts her in a very bad light. No idea if the journalist or Keira
were in a bad mood, possibly both. It purports to show a case of a celebrity's
'smiles always on' attitude during interview sessions having slipped -
and the sad fact is Keira already has a growing opinion in some people's
minds that she's like this in real life - mostly from people who've only
ever read articles like this one (thankfully those interviews are a minority,
and are usually derived from the fact that she refuses to talk about personal
things such as boyfriends and family, as was the case here). Who knows
what went on before or during this interview, but the reader is only left
with one possible opinion - the one the journalist wants you to have. Contrast
this with Elisabeth Moss's comments
of working with Keira on The Children's Hour.
January 9th
Fox's UK entertainment channel
FX had the first UK promo of Never Let Me Go yesterday, which I captured

is on February 7th in London.

I had intended to refrain
from posting Keira plaudits for London Boulevard and Never Let Me Go until
they were released on both sides of the Atlantic, but as that looks like
being six months apart, I've compiled them now. Read the Reviews
& Praise.
December 14th
Despite being a strong contender
in the 'awards prediction' articles for much of the year, Never Let Me
Go has failed to pick up ANY nominations at the first biggie of the year,
The Golden Globes. Better luck at the BAFTAs - nominations are out on January
18th. Article.
December 5th
Carey Mulligan has won Best

Film Awards (BIFAs) in London tonight. Keira did not attend.

Whether or not last week's
Daily Mail article was true about Fox being angry about Chanel's new ad
keeping Keira in Paris and away from US Never Let Me Go promotions, she
seems to have made up for it this week with satellite interviews from London:
- Fox Boston has an interview,
and KTLA has another.
- The CBS Early Show video
interview is now online.
- Parade magazine has a
Keira
interview
today.

August 15th
An article concerning Keira's
private life was published today, which KeiraWeb never republishes in this
column (although it'll be on the automatic Newswire at the link above).
At the end of it was the interesting tidbit that Keira is to tour the world
promoting Never Let Me Go! Presumably 'the world' means UK, Canada and
US where it will get premieres.
August 13th
The soundtrack CD for Never
Let Me Go will be released

July 29th
Never Let Me Go has now
appeared on the UK cinema release calendar with a date of January 28th.
It's no coincidence, surely, that this is just three days after the Oscar
nominations are announced.
July 27th
Never Let Me Go will premiere
at the Toronto Film Festival, it was announced today. The fest runs September
9th to 19th. Article.
July 26th
The official
poster for Never Let Me Go is online at the LA Times. Click on it for
full size. Much will be made of the fact that Keira is absent in all but
name, and I'm not sure it really 'sells' the film, to be honest. No tagline
either - I wonder if this is the finished product? The clues are there:
the 'sliced' lettering, the characters running, suggestive of a race against
time. But you'd only make that connection if you've read the book.
July 14th
The Oscar buzz is hotting
up for Never Let Me Go, with both RopeOfSilicon
and Variety
having articles. And this
page has been cited as its official site, although it doesn't look
like one. Fox owns neverletmegomovie.com
which currently redirects to the above, so this is likely to be the official
site nearer the time of release.
July 3rd
There's a great screening
review of Never Let Me Go in today's Daily
Mail.
July 1st
The release date for Never
Let Me Go in the US has provisionally been pulled forward to September
15th, possibly to tie in with a screening at the Toronto Film Festival
?
June 15th
The trailer for Never Let
Me Go is online now at apple.com/trailers

it from here
(13Mb).

- There's a positive review of a test screening of Never Let Me Go over
at AICN.
June 3rd
Never Let Me Go is now in post-production,
according to IMDb (although reports are they are still recording the early
school scenes). The status of London Boulevard has also changed to 'Filming'
- the appearance of pics will soon confirm that, no doubt.
May 8th
Keira has returned to Norfolk for
filming this week, close to Holkham. She filmed scenes for The Duchess
at Holkham Hall. Article.
April 23rd
BBC Bristol has a footage-only clip
of Keira & co filming Never Let Me Go on Clevedon beach today. And
here's my high-res rip of a proper report from tonight's news programme:
22Mb.
April 22nd
Keira and co will be filming Never
Let Me Go in Somerset this week (Clevedon and Weston), according to local
press. Send us your pics if you're going for a snoop! These will be
the scenes where Rod and Chrissie think they've seen Ruth's 'original'
in town and they go to try to find her again.
April 16th
There's pap
snaps already from the set of Never Let Me Go. I never read the novel
but I read the script today, and enjoyed it.
April 15th
Charlotte Rampling will reunite
with Keira in Never Let Me Go, filming now in London. Sally Hawkins, Nathalie
Richard and Andrea Riseborough have also been added to the cast, says Variety.
April 9th
Newsy bits:
- Keira is due to begin filming
Never Let Me Go next week, in London and Norfolk, the first return to a
film set since Last Night wrapped in early December (except for Cut, which
was filmed in January). Keira will play Ruth, with Carey Mulligan as Kathy.
March 5th
Baz's Friday column
in The Daily Mail has more on Never Let Me Go, notably that filming starts
on April 13th and that Carey Mulligan will play Kathy, so Keira's character
is Ruth.
March 4th
The Beautiful & The Damned looks
like it may swap places with Never Let Me Go in Keira's schedule, as location
company Screen East have been contracted to find Norfolk locations ready
for filming of Never at the end of this month. The fact that the lead actor
for Damned has yet to be announced suggests its planned March date will
not now happen. Article.
March 2nd
NEW MOVIE !!!
A new month and a new movie is announced
for Keira. She will star in Never Let Me Go, adapted from the highly-acclaimed
novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. Variety reports
an April start, and it will be directed by Mark Romanek with co-stars Andrew
Garfield and Carey Mulligan (Kitty in Pride & Prejudice). Despite a
title that sounds like a romance, it is a return to sci-fi for Keira, and
it's likely she will play the character of Kathy. Storyline details below
(possible spoilers):

- Times
Review - IMDb
- Buy the book: Amazon UK
- US
So Keira's filming schedule is tight,
and now looks like this (subject to change):
March - The Beautiful & The
Damned
April - Never Let Me Go
May - London Boulevard
