November 30th
London Boulevard has debuted
at No.3 in the UK box office in its first week, taking £577,000 across
345 screens. That includes £138,000 from Wednesday and Thursday previews.
Of course, it was never expected to worry Harry Potter and his Deadly Halitosis,
but this good return may result in a wider release this weekend. Article.

Here's a London Boulevard
interview
with Ray Winstone.
December 18th
I had intended to refrain
from posting Keira plaudits for London Boulevard and Never Let Me Go until
they were released on both sides of the Atlantic, but as that looks like
being six months apart, I've compiled them now. Read the Reviews
& Praise.
December 16th
London Boulevard will be
out on UK
DVD on March 21st. Meanwhile, the movie has slipped to No.12 in the
UK box office, showing now on 130 screens. It took another £59,000
last weekend, making £1,268,000 since its release three weeks ago.
December 9th
London Boulevard took a
further £254,000 in its second UK week, for a £1,060,000 tally,
showing on 29 fewer screens than last week (316 from 345).

Here's another London Boulevard
video interview
with Colin Farrell - quite possibly the most reluctant interviewee in history!
November 19th
London Boulevard previews
in London on the 24th and 25th, before national release on the 26th. Yet
to see or hear any Keira promotion for this, even pre-recorded, but Ray
Winstone is on ITV1's London Tonight next week one day at 6pm (Sky 993
if you're outside London) and Film2010 should at least have a mention of
it. Director William Monahan is interviewed by Collider.com.
November 16th
An update on the London
Boulevard promotions: The TV ad still says Kiera - although I did see an
ad plastered along the side of a bus today, which was spelled correctly.
Hooray!
November 15th
The London Boulevard premiere
would be in the schedules by now if it was happening, so I'd guess there
will instead be a back-street London cinema press night, as there was for
The Jacket. Colin Farrell seems to be doing all the promotions on his own
for this movie. See his interviews today with Daybreak
and Sky
News, the latter featuring new clips. He's also on ITV At The Movies
this Saturday (see Diary).
November 9th
- Mystery No.1: Why the
people who made the currently-showing UK TV spot for London Boulevard have
the word 'KIERA KNIGHTLEY' in big letters
on the screen? Completely unacceptable to spell her name wrong now. She's
hardly an unknown.
- Mystery No.2: Why the
UK premiere of Silk is on Film4 on Friday December 3rd at 1.10 *AM*
?? This film will be seen by about as many people as saw it on its 24-screen
UK cinema release. For one week.
November 8th
Colin Farrell kicks off
the London Boulevard promotions in the UK next Monday 15th, when he drops
in to ITV's breakfast show Daybreak.

An image which may or may
not turn out to be the official poster for London Boulevard has appeared.
October 20th
Collider has news
of London Boulevard at long last. Among details of Sergio Pizzorno's score,
it says the film's trailer and stills will be with us soon.
September 27th
London Boulevard's UK release
has been tweaked again, from November 12th to the 26th.
September 7th
London Boulevard's UK release
date has now slipped to November 12th, according to the reliable Film Distributor's
Association. Could still change again, of course.
August 26th
London Boulevard distributor
GK Films have said it's unlikely the movie will get a release before the
New Year.
Thanks Danielle

Last Night will close the
Toronto Film Festival on September 19th, it was announced
today. An official release schedule surely can't be far off? It's been
a long time coming, but kudos to Filmyard for getting this on the slate
so soon after acquiring the remains of Miramax. The article also mentions
London Boulevard but it's hard to tell if it's just a round-up of Keira's
forthcoming movies - it doesn't appear in the line-up.
So that's four premieres in six weeks for Keira: two at Toronto FF, one
at London FF and the London Boulevard premiere somewhere in early October.
August 15th
Here's a great article
on the casting and adaptation of London Boulevard from book to screen.
June 7th
London Boulevard looks set
for an October 15th UK release. A couple of reliable film databases now
have this date published. An October 1st limited US release of Never Let
Me Go, already reported by Mark Romanek, suggests a busy September on the
promo circuit for Keira, and premieres to follow in quick succession.

shortly to be shown at Cannes. If anyone with a subscription to the site

April 30th
This, apparently, is the
first official publicity
pic for London Boulevard although it's nothing new to most people who
keep an eye on Keira-related pics
or the Youtube phone camera videos
from the set. But at least it's the first stage towards an actual release!
Still no date set, and I doubt anything will appear before the World Cup's
over in mid-July now.

London Boulevard
author Ken Bruen mentions an April release date for the movie at the end

ScreenDaily
reports
how life imitated art imitating life on the set of London Boulevard as,
during a paparazzi scene, in the background was an audience of... paparazzi!
September

The Daily
Mail's (only) reliable journalist Baz Bamigboye has a flurry of Keira
news today (my notes in red):
.....
- Keira will
be promoting London Boulevard and Never Let Me Go in New York early next
year.
August 17th
London Boulevard has now finished
filming and is in post-production, according to this
article, although the last sentence is completely wrong.
June 19th
Some filming pics have appeared
of Keira as Lillian Palmer in London Boulevard: Here
and here.
June 9th
London Boulevard has started shooting,
and is due to go on until mid-August. Article.
April 13th
More cast for London Boulevard have
been announced.
Anna Friel will play Colin Farrell's sister, David Thewliss will play Lillian
Palmer's (Keira) business manager while Keira's King Arthur co-star Ray
Winstone will play former crime boss Tommy Logan. Filming starts in the
summer.
March 20th
Baz at the Daily
Mail has more info on London Boulevard, including the almost-certain
addition of David Thewliss, and that the promo posters will feature Keira's
actress character in mock adverts selling various products.
February 24th
EXCLUSIVE:
After correspondence with Keira's
agent today I can announce the following:
- Keira is no longer attached to
King Lear as the whole project has been shelved. Very sad news indeed,
and the second Ruby Films project Keira has seen mothballed - remember
Tulip Fever ?
- Keira will play Lillian Palmer
(the reclusive actress) in London Boulevard. I had wondered if she would
play the love interest Aisling instead.
January 23rd
Variety today confirms
Keira's role in London Boulevard, with a summer shoot mentioned.
January 22nd
NEW MOVIE !!!
The Daily Mail's usually correct
Baz Bamigboye is reporting today that Keira has signed for London Boulevard,
adapted by Bill Monahan, from the novel by Ken Bruen about an ex-con, Mitch,
who becomes minder for reclusive actress Lillian Palmer, a parallel with
Sunset Boulevard already established from the book reviews. Monahan bought
the filming rights in April last year, according to Variety.
Keira's co-star is stated to be Colin Farrell. Filming will start in late
Spring. Article
